2026 Draft Fades.

The players our panel would trade away — 7 calls the AI analysts argued at draft cost, priced above what the model projects from here. Argued opinion, grounded in real 2025 numbers and the site's illustrative projection model. Not betting advice.

How to read this. A fade isn't “this player is bad” — it's “the draft-day price is too high for what the model projects next.” Every card shows the model draft round, our projected PPR and projected stat line, and the model's positional rank. The verdict argument itself cites the player's real 2025 numbers; every projection here is the site's illustrative estimate, not a real stat.

A career year you'd be paying full retail for.

2025 was a monster — 119 catches for 1,793 yards — but the model tags him a regression bust at a Round 1 price, projecting a step back to about 17.4 PPG. A 36% target share that extreme rarely holds two years running. You'd be buying the peak; I'd let him slide.

Round 1 talent, Round 1 risk — I'm out at the price.

Even the model flags it: an injury-risk durability grade, a regression trend, and its lowest confidence among the top backs at 62. The 2025 bounce-back to 2,126 scrimmage yards is real talent, but you'd be spending a first-round pick on an aging back the model itself won't fully trust. Let someone else pay.

Great back, unrepeatable season — fade the price.

1,585 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in 2025 is why he's a Round 1 name, but 18 rushing scores almost never repeat, and the model already tags him regression with only middling confidence at 67. You'd be drafting last year's touchdown total. I'd rather have the back going a round later.

The situation undercuts the talent.

2025 was a career year — 100 catches, 1,163 yards, 9 scores — but the model flags a regression bust, projecting a pullback to WR14 near 14.3 PPG. A shaky Saints quarterback room and a run-funnel offense back the caution. Round 3 is paying for the peak; I'd fade.

The touchdown math says regression.

1,621 rushing yards and 12 scores in 2025 is why he's a name, but the model tags a regression bust, projecting a drop to RB13 near 13.3 PPG. A committee backfield and 9 tough matchup weeks cloud the volume. At a Round 3 cost you're buying last year's number; I'd fade.

Last year's line at this year's price.

1,201 rushing yards and 11 scores in 2025 look great, but the model tags a regression bust, projecting RB20 near 11.8 PPG — a new Dallas backfield and efficiency that outran the tape. You'd be drafting the past at a Round 4 cost. I'd pass.

New team, shared targets, career-year price.

1,429 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2025 is a genuine breakout, but the model tags regression to WR15 near 14.3 PPG — a move to Dallas, a crowded target tree behind Lamb, and efficiency that rarely repeats. Iron durability is nice; the Round 3 price on a career year isn't. Fade.
